Richard Russell Edwards

Richard is from Bristol in the U.K. he trained in Musical Theatre at Northbrook College and continued on to study at Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama where he gained a Masters Degree with Distinction; He was awarded The RWCMD Musical Theatre Prize for attaining the highest marks in his year group. After graduating he moved to London and joined the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar which played in the Summer Festival Theatre in Slovenia. He then went on to join Sasha Regan’s multi award winning all male G&S Operetta company. He has toured around the U.K with them every year since 2013, playing some notable theatres such as Hackney Empire, Wilton’s Music hall, The Salford Lowry, Yvonne Arnaud, Winchester Theatre Royal, Theatre Royal Bath and The Palace Theatre west end. Shows with Sasha Regan’s All Male Company include, The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, Iolanthe and HMS Pinafore, for which he won the Craig Dodd Prize for Best Actor in a Featured Role. Last Christmas Richard performed in Snow White at Leeds Carriageworks Theatre in his first Pantomime, multi rolling Horace the evil Queen’s downtrodden henchman and puppeteer for one of the seven dwarfs. He was nominated for Best Newcomer in The U.K. Pantomime Association Awards. Richard is currently in Miami working for Celebrity X Cruises as a lead vocalist sailing around the Caribbean aboard Celebrity Summit (and getting a tan).
